ENERGY drink maker Boost has appointed former Kimberly-Clark director Al Gunn as business development director.
With extensive expertise across the UK and Irish multiple retail sectors, knowledge of emerging channels and strategic planning, Mr Gunn will offer advice across the Leeds-based business as the brand looks to increase its market share.
Simon Gray, managing director at Boost, said: “Al’s appointment has come at an important time for the business. We have enjoyed a strong 12 months and sales of our core energy products are performing well, and as Boost is still a young brand we are ready to make the next step up and fulfil our ambitious growth plans.

HALLIWELLS in Sheffield has announced Emlyn Hudson as the firm’s new head of construction.
Mr Hudson has been a senior associate in Halliwells’ construction team in Manchester for the last seven years.
Neil Thompson, head of Halliwells in Sheffield, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Emlyn to South Yorkshire. His existing knowledge of the firm, not to mention his understanding of the industry, will be invaluable I’m sure.”

A COMPANY director at a South Yorkshire’s construction specialist has been appointed as president of one of the UK’s leading trade associations.
Gavin Colclough, director of Rotherham-based Horbury Building Systems, has taken on the presidency role at the Federation of Plastering and Drywall Contractors (FPDC).
The FPDC offers specialist business support designed for companies of all sizes and represents contractor members’ interests to help them to achieve competitive industry advantages.
His role will include promoting best practice, excellence and professionalism in plastering, drylining and associated trades.
He said: “The purpose of the federation is to act as the collective voice of the industry, representing the interests of the sector through a wide range of topics including training, which is vital to ensure we establish a highly skilled workforce.”

MARTIN Brown has joined Whitakers Chocolates in Skipton as national food service sales manager.
With more than 17 years’ experience within the catering food sector, Mr Brown joins from AB World Foods, formerly G Costa & Co, which is part of the ABF group and includes brands such as Blue Dragon, Patak’s, Tabasco and Maille.
He has spent the last five years as an account manager within the food service division, working with customers such as Country Range, Fairway and Sterling.
Managing director William Whitaker said: “Martin will head our growing sales team, helping to enhance our service and ensure that our customers are aware of our full product offering. He joins the company at an exciting time with production increasing to two million chocolates a day and turnover expected to be close to £11m this year. Martin will play a key role in helping Whitakers to achieve its ambitious growth plans.”
