TM Lewin ‘Express’ arrives in region

RETAIL brand TM Lewin is opening its first regional ‘Express’ store in Yorkshire.
The upmarket tailoring name is opening the outlet in Leeds City station.
The concept store offers time-strapped commuters the opportunity to purchase garments on the go.
Geoff Quinn, managing director of TM Lewin, said: “As the largest centre for business and financial services outside London, Leeds was the obvious choice for our first regional Express store.
“The store will offer the same high level of product and customer service TM Lewin customers have come to expect, just in a slightly repackaged way.”
Mr Quinn added: “The Express stores are ideal for those for whom shopping is low on their list of priorities. The retail experience is very different – less about browsing and more about grabbing those essential clothing items whilst waiting for your connection.”
TM Lewin already has five Express stores in some of the capital’s largest train stations.
TM Lewin was founded in 1898 in London’s Jermyn Street and until 2000 operated from only five stores.
The Leeds Express will take the network to 80 stores and seven concessions, with 10 more stores due to be launched later this year.
Mr Quinn added: “Last year TM Lewin increased its share in the market and, as the company expands in its tailoring and women’s wear ranges, we are able to offer more to our customers in the regions.
“Trade has been fantastic at our stores across the UK and we’re expecting the new Leeds Express store to be no different.
Last year we had sales of over £78m, which produced a 23% increase in earnings to nearly £13m.”
The station Express store will only stock a selection of the men’s ranges including, shirts, ties and cufflinks and opens on Monday.
