Go-ahead for City House scheme

BRUNTWOOD has been given permission to go ahead with its plans for a major redevelopment of the landmark City House building.
The 120,000 sq ft office block towering over Leeds Station will be converted into grade A space that will be made available from the middle of 2013.
Craig Burrow, director of Leeds for Bruntwood, said: “Our proposals include re-cladding the building’s exterior, remodelling the pedestrian entrance and public realm and creating additional access to the basement car park.
”City House will benefit from meticulous design, precision craftsmanship and the highest quality materials to ensure it impresses on every level.
“The building will be priced to appeal to a wide range of occupiers and our aim is to develop vibrant and well-functioning places that create the right environments for our customers to succeed.”
The 14-storey City House was bought by Bruntwood last year and is now part of a portfolio of five commercial buildings the company owns in the city.
On completion the building will have a new entrance foyer and mezzanine reception.
