MANOR Property Group has appointed the Leeds office of DTZ to market its five storey 140,000 sq ft Manor Point development in Hull.

The development comprises an extensive refurbishment of a former cooperative department store which is subject to a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) application which is now in its final stage.

The  ERDF application will see the building undergo a conversion and refurbishment of part of space into grade A commercial floor-space.

A TEAM of property experts pushed themselves over the edge of a Leeds landmark building to support young and disadvantaged people.

Thrill-seekers at the Leeds office of leading property consultant GVA donned hardhats to abseil down the side of C Building at Leeds Metropolitan University for the property industry’s charity LandAid.

In total 20 members of the GVA team and staff from its PR consultants Beattie Communications took part and raised more than £1,800.

LandAid helps the young and disadvantaged access facilities, skills and opportunities to achieve their potential and thrive within their local community.

THE building consultancy team at CBRE in Leeds has completed a £1.2m reinstatement of a fire damaged building in Wednesbury, West Midlands, on behalf of Spire Midlands.

The 16,145sq ft unit at Newman Park on Western Way had formerly been used as a waste recycling plant.

CBRE’s team project managed a comprehensive programme of decontamination works and asbestos removal prior to demolishing and rebuilding the unit.

Richard Bamford, senior director of building consultancy at CBRE in Leeds, said: “The intensity of the fire and the extent of damage to the Units at Newman Park was such that the building needed to be totally demolished, including the floor slab and foundations and rebuilt.”

TOWRY House in Leeds city centre has become available for rent.

Located on St Paul’s Street, the property offers up to 10,000 sq ft of office accommodation within the heart of the city’s traditional central business district.

The former headquarters of Towry Law and owned by the Freshwater Group, the premises have not been available for rent for around 15 years.

Glenn Levison, partner at Sanderson Weatherall, which is marketing the building, said: “Prime stock in Leeds city centre is in short supply, so there’s likely to be strong interest in Towry House from small occupiers in the market looking for self-contained floors from 1,500 sq ft.
