SMEs invited to show off clean cost-cutting technology

A TOP team of innovation investors is visiting South Yorkshire to find out if the manufacturing community has what it takes to come up with cost-busting new technologies.
The specialist team, which is dedicated to identifying and safeguarding new, clean energy and low-carbon technology, is inviting SMEs to a networking event at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Rotherham on April 23.
Organisers are hoping the event will unearth clever ideas that can be commercialised for the benefit of the inventor and the wider business community.
The free event is open to anyone who is interested in finding out more about the varied opportunities including up to £70,000 in business support from the Carbon Trust in developing energy-saving technologies.
The event includes a series of presentations by experts in research, technology and investment as well as intellectual property.
Joe Anwyl, senior business development manager of South Yorkshire’s Advanced Manufacturing and Metals team, said: “The AMP is becoming world renowned, populated by companies and entrepreneurs turning vision into business and bringing contracts, investment and jobs into the regional – and national – economy.
“This event will further cement that reputation for attracting forward-thinking companies to the heart of the UK’s advanced manufacturing sector.”
