Double letting success for Towngate

ALLIED Glass has signed a ten year lease at the Cross Green Industrial Estate.

The company has moved to a 106,000 sq ft warehouse at the site operated by Towngate from another smaller unit owned by the Brighouse-based commercial property firm.

John Wignall, property director at Towngate, said: “We are thrilled that a tenant within the Towngate Portfolio continues to do well, despite the challenging times facing the UK manufacturing industry.

“It is always encouraging to know that we are valued by our tenants, who continue to speak with us when their property requirements change.”

Allied Glass Containers is the UK’s fourth largest glass container manufacturer and has a site at Haigh Park Road, Stourton, in addition to its Cross Green operation.

Towngate has also leased its property at Ripley Drive, Normanton to packing, labelling and decoration company Bottleworks.

Philip Caspell, property surveyor at Towngate, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new tenants Bottleworks Ltd to the Ripley Drive property.

“It is encouraging for the industry as a whole, to see that the economy is growing in certain sectors and success is being achieved when difficult market conditions continue to be reported.”
