Last chance to enter Yorkshire Business Masters

THERE is still time to enter your nominations for the TheBusinessDesk.com’s inaugural Yorkshire Business Masters awards.

With the deadline for entries being at the end of today, the region’s business community is being invited to continue submitting entries.

TheBusinessDesk.com’s Yorkshire Business Masters Awards will take place at Aspire in Leeds on June 17.

As well as rewarding company success, the awards will highlight all that is good about business in Yorkshire, including the personalities who make the region’s economy prosper.

The Yorkshire Business Masters have already attracted the support of key firms from across the region, with law firms Gordons and Walker Morris, and accountancy firm KPMG, signing up as main sponsors.

The awards also aim to be more relevant to Yorkshire business than any other event in the established calendar by bringing together key players to facilitate business on the day.

All five categories are open to individuals or businesses based in the Yorkshire region.

The categories are:

• Yorkshire Newcomer: Best new business initiative in the region

• Yorkshire Grit: Overcoming adversity and making a real difference

• Yorkshire Pride: Most meaningful philanthropic initiative by a business, organisation or leader

• Yorkshire Innovator: Most creative or original business thinking

• Yorkshire Ambassador: Greatest contribution to business in Yorkshire

An independent panel of respected business experts will filter the nominations and a shortlist for each award will be announced in May, with the final votes for each award being cast by the readers of TheBusinessDesk.com.

Reflecting our aim to attract entries from the length and breadth of the region, the judging panel is made up of senior figures including Paul Fullerton, agent of the Bank of England for Yorkshire; Stephen Martin, chief executive of Clugston Group; Helen West, chief executive of Business Link; James Newman, the Master Cutler; Ajaz Ahmed, founder of Freeserve and Andrew Palmer, regional director of the CBI.

David Parkin, group managing editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “There has been a great response so far to the Yorkshire Business Masters and we are extremely excited about the quality and number of nominations so far.

“Our aim is not only to recognise the outstanding business talent in the region, but also to facilitate business by bringing together key achievers and allowing old colleagues, clients and new contacts to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere.”

Tickets for the Yorkshire Business Masters, which will be held at Aspire in Leeds on June 17 from noon to 3.30pm, are available for £250 per pair plus VAT.

The event will start with a champagne reception, followed by a three course lunch with fine wine.
