Latest appointments: Promotions at Walker Morris; Changes at Last Cawthra Feather and more

WALKER Morris has announced a string of appointments in its latest round of internal promotions.

Four directors and two associates have been appointed – all currently solicitors within the Leeds-based firm.

The new directors include Jules Harbage, Richard Outhwaite, Lynsey Oakdene, and Emma Wright.

Louisa Deboer and Victoria Burgess have been promoted to associates.

The firm’s commercial group has also welcomed associate Robert Goldstone to the team. Mr Goldstone was hired from SJ Berwin.

LCF Cleo HowellLAW firm Last Cawthra Feather has announced the promotion of its practice director and two further appointments.

Practice director Cleo Howell has been appointed to membership of Last Cawthra Feather after playing an instrumental role in the firm’s business growth since joining in 2001. As a non-lawyer and management accountant she is one of the significant contributors recognised by the firm.

During her time with Last Cawthra Feather, Ms Howell has been closely involved in the firm’s financial management and development, becoming a driving force behind gaining the Investors in People and Lexcel, the Law Society’s practice management standard, accreditations.

Steven Appleton, who was recently appointed as an associate with the firm, has been announced as a member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) after passing the entry exam.

Last Cawthra Feather has also welcomed Carole Spencer to its family law team and Penny Barrand to LCF Residential, the firm’s residential conveyancing service.

Ms Spencer joins from Atkinson & Firth and will be based at Last Cawthra Feather’s Bradford office. Specialising in children and family finance issues, she will work closely with the firm’s family law team.

Ms Barrand will be based at the Shipley office to support the conveyancing arm of Last Cawthra Feather.

DD promotionsDICKINSON Dees has announced five promotions across its pensions, property, corporate recovery and public services departments.

Jackie Gray, who is based at the firm’s York office in Bishopthorpe Road, has been promoted to director in the public services department.

The department has more than 45 local authority clients and acts for 20 NHS Trust and PCT clients across the the UK, completing deals worth over £2.5bn in the last year.

Ms Gray, an expert in data protection who joined Dickinson Dees in 2007 from Walker Morris, will continue to build on the team’s business in the Yorkshire and Humber region, particularly within local government, including Building Schools for the Future, IT and public sector outsourcing.

Neil Walker, Tracy Walsh, David Hambler and Andrew Robertson have all been promoted.
