Young people urged to think business in York

A WEBSITE aimed at encouraging young people to start their own businesses was launched on the first day of York Business Week.
The ‘Wildfire’ website was unveiled at the ‘Create Your Future’ event organised by the Business and Education Partnership.
Deirdre Bounds, who started gap year firm i-to-i.com in Leeds, urged young people at the event to get involved.
She said: “I am really passionate about Wildfire which is new, fresh and dynamic. I truly believe it is massively important to have the right skills to start a business.
“The website can also help young people to develop those all important life skills and whether they choose to become self employed or get a job Wildfire is a great site.
“I would love to think that one or more of the young people attending today will be standing here in years to come, having taken a similar path to me, and share their own journey to success with the next generation of entrepreneurs and youngsters about to start their own career.”
