Rollits restructures to become LLP

ROLLITS, one of Yorkshire’s leading law firms, has unveiled a major restructuring that sees it change from a traditional law firm partnership to a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

The firm, which has offices in York and Hull, has 20 partners and offers a wide range of services including commercial property, company and commercial, dispute resolution and regulatory, employment, private capital and third sector.

Its partners were recently praised in the latest edition of UK Legal Experts as having some of “the leading lights in the UK legal profession.”

Managing partner Richard Field said: “The decision to become a LLP has been taken after a major review of Rollits’ business and will give the firm the right corporate structure for its future development, as well as giving us the opportunity to bring some more talented individuals into the boardroom.”

The Limited Liability Partnership Act was introduced in 2000 and allowed professional and service partnerships to become LLPs and remove the unlimited liability of individual partners.

The accountancy profession was the first to adopt LLP status – now firms are increasingly adopting LLP incorporation and Rollits is joining something of a trend.
