Hainsworth targets international consumers

TEXTILE manufacturer Hainsworth has launched a new consumer brand as part of its international growth plants.
Family-owned firm Hainsworth is looking to place the new Scarlet & Argent range of blankets, throws and accessories in major stores around the world.
Managing director Tom Hainsworth said: “We have put in place an exciting, ambitious and firmly international expansion plan for the business.
“We will be continuing to look to grow in our traditional markets, but the launch of Scarlet & Argent provides us with the platform to target consumers directly for the first time.
“A painstaking amount of research and development has gone into creating the collection and we cannot wait to launch to the public in a few weeks. In addition to selling through retailers, we have created a powerful e-commerce site which will enable us to sell directly to the consumer.
“We have grown our overseas exports in recent years but we have now put in place a concerted strategy to help us significantly increase the proportion of international sales across many different areas of the business.”
Hainsworth’s move into the consumer market globally follows its overseas sales and marketing push promoting the fabrics it manufacturers for use in firefighters’ clothing.
It is also targeting growth in the market for its snooker and pool cloth through the growth in the interest in the game in China.
