Jobs saved in haulier’s pre-pack deal

TWENTY-six jobs have been saved at a South Yorkshire haulage company, thanks to a rescue package put together by specialist insolvency firm The P&A Partnership.

Christopher White and Andy Wood of The P&A Partnership, joint administrators of Hallam Freight, saved the firm in a pre-pack agreement.

Mr Wood said: “A newly formed company Hallam Express bought the business on a pre-packaged basis and the 26 employees transferred to the new company with no redundancies.

“Our main priority was to protect the employees. The business has retained its customers, reduced its fleet costs and transferred to new premises in Sheffield where it can operate at greatly reduced costs.”
