AN NHS dental service provider, which has 10 clinics in Yorkshire and The Humber, is looking to recruit apprentices from across the region.
Genix Healthcare has launched an apprenticeship programme and wants new recruits to train in Leeds, Doncaster, Huddersfield, Hull, Market Weighton, Mexborough and Sheffield.
The programme aims to promote the dental profession and support the need for qualified dental nurses.
Genix Healthcare has 22 clinics across England and is looking to increase its workforce through the apprenticeship programme with an investment of around £250,000.
Sian Nelson-Jones, clinical director of Genix Healthcare, said: “We are all too aware of the devastating employment situation for young people and the challenges that they face in getting experience to kick start their career.”

ACCOUNTANT Grant Thornton’s Leeds and Sheffield offices have secured major contracts to provide audit and tax advice for four Yorkshire-based businesses, including Cartridge World and Fellowes.
Grant Thornton has also been appointed by Leeds-based Lexia Solutions, a leading provider of environmental, health and safety and management services.
The firm has also been chosen by Ingemino, a newly-formed company established to acquire, develop and grow businesses providing testing services.

NYTimber has launched its Monarch Park Homes division.
Headed by Keith Young, Monarch Park Homes specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke timber lodges for both residential parks and holiday home sites.
Based at NYT’s 120,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution centre near Catterick, the Monarch production unit boasts six new fabrication staff.
Orders for six lodges are presently being completed for sites at Cottingham, near Hull and Darlington, with orders for three more lodges in the pipeline

BUSINESS mentor Darren Shaw is launching a three-month programme of support for owner managers and managing directors of SMEs.
The ‘Reviver Programme’ is specifically aimed at MDs of established small businesses, who are looking to take their businesses forward in 2012.
The programme will feature a series of three half day group workshops.
Mr Shaw said: “Having spent the last 12 months working closely with the Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, I’m pretty tuned-in to the issues that many owner managers are facing right now.
The Reviver Programme workshops are taking place at Regus, Thorpe Park in January 2012.

BARGAIN retailer Discount UK is opening a new outlet in Bradford in a move that will create 40 jobs.
Leading brands at the store, at Forster Square Retail Park, will be available for £1 or under.
