New premises means new business for Illingworths

INSURANCE broker Illingworths believes new premises in the centre of York are the reason behind increased footfall at the firm.

The company moved to its new Grade II listed offices on Newgate with the help of funding from Lloyds TSB Commercial after the lease expired on its former home on Walmgate.

Illingworths provides insurance broker services to customers across the UK on both personal and insurance products as well as life insurance, pensions and investments.

Ian Brindle, managing director at Illingworths, said: “When the lease expired on our old premises we looked at new sites on various business parks outside the city, but decided that we would prefer to move closer into the centre to increase our profile and be in a more convenient location for customers.

“The feedback on the new office from our customers has been 100 per cent positive and it perfectly meets our requirements.”

Illingworths took the decision to buy premises, rather than lease again, to add to the company’s assets and invest for the future and the move has seen more people visiting thanks to the new offices’ greater visibility.

Nick Blake, relationship manager at Lloyds TSB Commercial, said: “Illingworths is a successful, well established local company, and this move provides a great platform from which to grow the business and represents a continued commitment to York.

“The company’s solid business plan, its vast experience in the sector and the opportunity that the acquisition presented meant that we were able to put together a tailored funding package for the purchase of the new office.”
