Development completed at Silkwood Park

TRICON Properties has completed the a £3.2m project which will form part of the Silkwood Park Business and Industrial development.
The firm – a sister company to Wakefield based, privately owned building services, engineering and contracting firm, Tricon Services – said that the project was a important step in the transformation of Wakefield.
Located at Silkwood Park Business and Industrial Park at junction 40 of the M1 motorway, the latest development comprises two commercial office units each measuring 4000 sq.ft.
The properties include air conditioning and under floor heating as well as the latest environmentally friendly highly efficient building services systems such as automated lighting, auto off power circuits controlled via the alarm and low energy lamps throughout.
Additionally, each unit has up to 16 car parking spaces and access is gained via a hydraulic barrier.
Both units have fully monitored alarm systems and cover of CCTV.
The new buildings form part of the larger 20,000 sq.ft development which has seen high levels of demand for its office accommodation due to its location and standard of properties.
Managing director Martin Firth said: “The city of Wakefield's recent transformation has started to attract a wide range of new businesses to the area and its rapid expansion has created demand for commercial and industrial premises nearby, as businesses want to take benefit from being near to good transport links. We are very pleased with the outcome of the two properties and having already received a lot of interest, anticipate the properties will be let in the very near future.”
Funding for the project was provided by NatWest in Wakefield.
