Banking support for key sectors launched

LLOYDS TSB Commercial has launched a specialist team to provide banking support to sectors seen as crucial to the region’s continuing economic development.
The dedicated Yorkshire team, which is part of a wider nationwide network of 220 specialists, will provide tailored funding and guidance to firms in the primary healthcare, social healthcare, education, property and legal and professional services sectors with a turnover of up to £15m.
The team will also include specialists who work with the not for profit (NFP) sector.
The banking group said the specialist sectors had unique structural challenges that required a funding partner who could tailor financial packages to meet specific requirements.
All relationship managers in the teams have undergone regular and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) enabling them to provide advice.
Craig Bennett, senior manager for Lloyds TSB Commercial and head of the specialist team in Yorkshire, said: “Lloyds strives to understand the challenges its customers face therefore enabling us to develop appropriate solutions to meet their sector-specific needs.
“The recession has meant that in many sectors, investment has been put on hold, but recent growth in lending will hopefully give business owners more confidence that they have the capacity and efficiency to compete effectively over the next few years.
Lloyds TSB Commercial has also established ambassadors’ forums in a number of sectors to bring together advisers and experts to debate the key issues affecting their respective industries.
