Developer sells hotel

A YORKSHIRE hotel has been sold for an undisclosed sum.
Brooklands Hotel has been bought by New Barnsley Hotels from Brooklands Restaurants.
The company's directors said the disposal completed their original strategy of acquiring, redeveloping and then re-establishing Brooklands as a premier hotel facility in Barnsley.
Brooklands Hotel opened in 2001 as the first four star hotel in the South Yorkshire town and has since been nominated for a number of awards.
In 2005 it was named Yorkshire Tourist Boards' 'Hotel of the Year'.
The former directors of the hotel, Martin Brook, Jason Brook and Grant Doyle, said they understood that Francis Hindle would continue in his role as general manager of the premises.
The partners will also continue to own the freehold investment of the Bannatyne's Health Club, located next to the hotel.
Brooklands Restaurants is part of the Brook Group.
The company said: “From a Brook Group perspective, the sale allows us to continue with our strategy of concentrating on our core businesses in the wider leisure and property sectors.”
Peter Barton of Gordons in Leeds acted for for the vendors.
