SHEFFIELD Hallam University has signed a unique five-year agreement with education technology providers Blackboard to develop mobile learning applications for students.

The agreement means Sheffield Hallam is the first UK institution to go mobile with Blackboard, giving students the ability to access campus services and course content when and where they want, using their smartphone or web-enabled mobile device.

The agreement includes commitment to two mobile applications – Blackboard Mobile Central and Blackboard Mobile Learn.

Blackboard Mobile Central enables the university to provide mobile access to services such as viewing the institution directory, maps, events, and contact information on the move.
