Dragons Den date for Shopbox

A BUSINESS with plans to make and market refrigerated drop boxes for home deliveries will pitch for funding on BBC’s Dragons Den tonight.
Invented in Yorkshire, Shopbox is designed to allow people take advantage of increasingly popular home food delivery services even when they are not at home.
The man behind the product, Stuart Archbold, came up with the idea seven years ago, but preparations to launch it commercially only started 12 months ago. It is due to launch in September.
Stuart, along with chief executive Andy Leslie, applied to the prime time programme in the hope of attracting new investment in the idea.
Mr Leslie said: “It was a daunting prospect to pitch in front of the infamous team but we did a lot of preparation, had our figures ready and were confident in our product. Walking up the stairs at the beginning felt very surreal but it was a fantastic experience and one which we won’t forget in a hurry.!”
Mr Archbold added: “This is a revolutionary appliance and we are really proud of how it has been received. Getting the chance to put it in front of some of the UK’s leading business people was an opportunity we couldn’t refuse.”
The programme will be aired tonight at 9pm on BBC 2.
