Transport company acquired by logistics firm

YORKSHIRE transport company James Durrans Transport has been acquired by a national logistics specialist.

James Durrans Transport – the bulk powder transport division of James Durrans and Sons – will transfer to the Stillers Tankers division of the Stiller Group.

Stiller Tankers currently serves the chemicals, fuels and bulk powders industries throughout the UK.

The acquisition is part of Stiller Group’s strategy to grow business within the bulk powder transport sector.

The deal boosts its fleet by 18 tractor units and 21 trailer/tankers.

As part of Stiller Tankers James Durran Transport will continue to operate from its existing base in Barugh Green, Barnsley, close to one of Stiller Group’s key operational transport and warehousing sites in Darton.
