Printing group confident about performance

PRINTING group Communisis said today that steady trading conditions would help it remain in the black.

The provider of print and marketing communication services said its first-quarter profit is in line with the company’s expectations, but added that it has seen some slight weakness in demand for printed products.

In an interim management statement the group said that margins generated from its printed products had been greater than expected.

The group provides print management services to customers including Barclays, Sainsbury, Tesco, and Marks & Spencer.

Earlier this year Communisis  – which is one of the UK’s leading print and print management firms – reported profits of £6.6m for the 12 months ended December 31 compared to a £20m loss for the same period in 2006.

Going forward, the group said it continues to have reasonably good forward visibility of revenues to the end of the first half.

The group added that  management of working capital remains a focus for the business and that there are good indications that the significant ground won in this area during 2007 will be retained.
