Safety milestone achieved at Cape

ENERGY services company Cape has announced it has achieved an important safety milestone.

The Wakefield-based company specialises in carrying out cleaning and maintenance for the oil and gas sectors.

The group announced it has  achieved six million man-hours without an LTI (Lost Time Incident) at its LNG project at Sakhalin Island.

Sakhalin Island, a former penal colony located off the east coast of Russia, holds vast hydrocarbon resources.

In a statement the group said: “Cape places a significant emphasis on its health and safety track record and this achievement is a tribute to the hard work of management and employees.”

The company provides scaffolding, insulation, fire protection, specialist cleaning and other essential services to industrial clients in the international energy and natural resources sectors.

The group has also announced a number of new appointments.

Jim McKenna will join the group as global logistics manager for the UK region based in Warrington and Steve Turner joins as business support services director for the UK region based in Wakefield.

Lee Foundation has also been promoted to the post of UK regional health, safety, environmental and quality director.

Cape employs more than 12,000 people in 23 countries worldwide within its four main markets in the UK, the Middle East, the CIS and Caspian and the Far East/ Australasia
