RETAIL property consultants Barker Proudlove is assisting Baguette Express as the franchise looks for sites in Yorkshire.

Baguette Express, which has achieved success in Scotland, is launching its first Yorkshire outlet in Leeds later this month.

Marc Sneddon and Graham Spence have won a license to open 50 Baguette Express stores through Lancashire and Yorkshire over the next seven to ten years.

Baguette Express has 69 outlets in Yorkshire and offers goods including sandwiches, baked potatoes, soups and coffee.

The planned expansion will see the the creation of 120 jobs over the coming three years.

Grant Owens, of Leeds-based Barker Proudlove, is acting on behalf of Mr Sneddon and Mr Spence to identify premises.

YORK Handmade Brick Company has provided bricks to help the construction department of York College to create new village signs in East Yorkshire.

York Handmade, based at Alne, near Easingwold, helped brickwork and stonemasonary apprentices and tutors from York College to build the signs as part of the Wallingfen Way Project.

Gordon Shields, project leader for the Wallingfen Way Project, said: “The brick and stone signs are brilliant, just right for the old industrial village of Newport.  We are so pleased with the students’ work and would like to thank York College for helping us to reclaim the road for the local community.”

PROPERTY advisor GVA has been appointed to market the Birstall 140 premises of Jacuzzi (UK).

Located off Junction 27 of the M62, the unit extends to approximately 140,000 sq ft and is one of the largest available warehouses in West Yorkshire.

Iain McPhail, associate at GVA, said: “The property is due to become vacant in early summer this year and we have already received some promising early interest from a number of occupiers. The property is very flexible as it has the capacity to accommodate both warehousing as well as more general industrial uses.”

The Yorkshire Industrial team at GVA in Leeds was instructed after Jacuzzi established its UK operations in larger premises on the Euroway Trading Estate in Bradford.
