Electronics firms to benefit from academic resource

ELECTRONICS firms will now be able to look up university and college courses available throughout the region thanks to a new service from Electronics Yorkshire.
The university resources section will complement other tools and information already offered on the not-for-profit organisation’s website. The facility aims to unravel university structures and open up benefits of collaboration between industry and academia.
Visitors will not only find detailed information about each university together with relevant website and communication links but a section listing colleges in the region offering electronics related courses.
Start-up and incubation support, details of areas of expertise such as rapid prototyping or surface microscopy, a full, campus by campus, list of facilities, including specialist laboratories, as well as a comprehensive list of courses broken down into graduate, postgraduate, short courses and continuing professional development is also available.
Peter Brooks, Electronics Yorkshire’s chief executive said:
“The new University Resources section on our website is an indication of the wealth of support which is accessible to the region’s electronics sector and is just one of many new initiatives we have recently introduced to make our website an even greater source of information for electronics companies in Yorkshire and Humber.”
He added: ‘This unique resource can only benefit the region’s electronics industry and provide even more opportunities for interaction between the business community and higher education.’
