DWF in profile

BUSINESS law firm DWF is looking to enjoy further growth in the region as conditions for the Yorkshire economy improve.
DWF is one of the fastest growing legal firms in the UK, employing more than 1,500 people in seven offices across the country including Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool, London and Newcastle.
From the Leeds office, 206 people and 28 partners service a wide range of clients throughout the Yorkshire region, across a range of sectors including education, energy and infrastructure, food, health, public sector, recruitment, retail, outsourcing and technology, and transport and logistics
James Haddleton, Leeds office executive partner at DWF, said: “Over the past year, we have continued to grow at a sustainable pace, recruiting a number of highly talented lateral hires.
“Recently we welcomed Matthew Brown who has joined us from Pinsent Masons on the corporate restructuring side of our business.”
DWF believes the key to its success is its people, and this is highlighted by the level of investment it is making in this area, which included the launch of the firm’s Paralegal Academy last September.
Mr Haddleton said: “Our sector-specialist approach not only allows us to truly understand our clients’ markets and challenges, but has also helped to attract some fantastic legal talent.
“It is expected that 2012 will be another challenging year for businesses, but sentiment is gradually improving. Yorkshire does have some key growth areas, and we will continue to support local businesses throughout the region.”
Across the country, DWF offers a full range of services to both businesses and private clients with teams specialising in corporate, banking and finance, litigation, real estate, employment and pension, insurance and private client law.
Highlighting the achievements of the firm in the past 12 months, DWF has received a number of accolades, including being named ‘National Law Firm of the Year’ in the 2011 Legal Business Awards, and achieving joint first place in the 2011 Legal Week Client Satisfaction Survey for the quality of its legal advice, and rising one place to second in the overall survey.
