Pharmore looks good with Mirrortech deal

HOMEWARES specialist Pharmore has acquired hi-tech bespoke mirrors specialist Mirrortech for an undisclosed sum.
Blackpool-based Mirrortech creates custom mirror designs, often incorporating inbuilt electronics or LED lighting, and wall art for major high street retailers.
It has been sold by former shareholders Gavin Jones and Tony Blundell. They were advised on the deal by Preston-based law firm Napthens.
Pudsey-based purchaser Pharmore supplies houseware ranges to major, multi-site retailers and Napthens corporate partner Andrew Clare said that it “has the necessary distribution network and market presence to build on the success of the work achieved by Mirrortech”.
Pharmore both manufactures and imports bespoke products for retailers such as Selfridges, Next, Laura Ashley, BHS and Dunnes Stores. It also supplies retailers in Australia, Canada, South Africa, South America and the Middle East. Many products are sourced from China, where the company has an office and showroom in Shenzhen.
Pharmore managing director Neelan Delanerolle said: “Our China office is performing well and expanding despite tough trading conditions. Domestically, the economy remains flat with no signs of recovery any time soon and the market is extremely testing.
“The acquisition of Mirrortech and more importantly, the services of Gavin Jones and Tony Blundell, will be a major asset to Pharmore’s expansion plans in the present climate. They have a great talent for design and the skill and ability to bring innovative products to the market.”
