VEHICLE rental supplier Nexus Vehicle Rental has secured a number of new contracts.
Pudsey-based Nexus, which also offers outsourced rental management and systems, has won the work with operators including contract hire and leasing specialist Ogilvie Fleet and LeasePlan UK, part of the world’s largest fleet management company.
A contract has also been won with Pendragon Contracts, the leasing arm of Pendragon Group.
John Ellis, managing director of Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “Our service provision is built on our in-depth knowledge and experience in the rental industry and listening to the needs of our clients.”

AN independent retailers shopping trail website has been launched to showcase the best of Beverley in East Yorkshire.
The idea is the brainchild of furniture and gift shop, Amanti, whose owners Amalia Booker and Antony Barton want to promote and celebrate the best of independent trade in the town.
Ms Booker said: “This July is independent retailer month and ‘Independents’ Day’ is being celebrated across the UK on July 4. The ‘Independent Beverley’ website celebrates this by bringing together small businesses, highlighting their locations in the town and by providing information on their products and offers.
“The objective of the website is to encourage local people to support Beverley town centre and keep the high street alive by buying at least one item from a local independent retailer they have never visited before.”

LEISURE and hospitality sector IT company Avenue9 has been launched, with the team behind it predicting turnover of £1m by the end of its first year.
Avenue9 forms part of Yorkshire-based Claritas Solutions Group of Companies. Alistair Hargreaves will spearhead Avenue9 as operations director.
The company will provide IT services to hotels, restaurants and pubs and leisure clubs.
Mr Hargreaves said: “Throughout my career in the hospitality industry I have learnt that without a sound, sensible and tailored IT system you are dead in the water.
£IT is the way forward to get your house in order, to accurately forecast and ultimately build the way to making profit.”

CONSTRUCTION company Strategic Team Group has been appointed by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group to work on the organisation’s Cyclical Asset Investment CAI programme framework.
The CAI programme, which focuses on the repair and / or replacement of key building services and property assets, will see Strategic Team Group carry out asset replacement works across the banking and financial services company’s full portfolio in the north of England and Scotland, including retail, corporate and investment operations.
The basis of the annual works programme will be developed by conducting detailed facilities audits and condition assessments at each site, followed by planned restoration work to extend the facility’s life.

ABBEY Grange Nursing Home in Sheffield has officially reopened following a major refurbishment.
The home was bought out of administration in November 2010 by Country Court Care, financed by Santander Corporate Bank and backed by European Investment Bank funding.
Abbey Grange, located close to the Northern General Hospital in the Firth Park area of Sheffield, provides elderly, residential, nursing and dementia care.
The refurbished nursing wing includes 16 en-suite bedrooms.
