SHOE icon Jimmy Choo is set to be the special guest speaker at Leeds College of Art & Design on the June 26.

This Creative Network event, jointly organised by Leeds College of Art & Design and The Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre in Halifax and sponsored by the West Yorkshire Lifelong Learning Network, will see Mr Choo talk about his ongoing passion for fine shoe making.

Stephen Challenger from the West Yorkshire Lifelong Learning Network said: “Creative Networks gives us an opportunity to engage directly with creative professionals and find out first hand what their skills needs are, so we can develop the courses to meet them”.

ADVICE on achieving valuable cost savings through resource efficiency is on offer to Huddersfield businesses on June 26 at a dedicated breakfast seminar.

The free event is being run by sustainability experts Envirowise and Business Link Yorkshire at Cedar Court Huddersfield.

It will offer information, advice and tools to help businesses achieve cost savings by minimising their resource use – including water, energy and raw materials.

Delegates will have the chance to hear what others have done to save money and learn how to identify opportunities and plan improvements for their own business.

YORKSHIRE law firm Langleys has launched a new online service offering free initial advice on all types of road traffic offences www.roadtrafficlawdirect.com

The website has a section for drivers to email any queries they have and they will then receive free initial legal advice from a team of specialist lawyers at the firm.

The team has successfully defended a number of cases, including one involving a situation where it would cause exceptional hardship to the driver, a national sales director, if he was disqualified under the penalty point system, for his fourth speeding offence.
