A round up Yorkshire’s top appointments within the commercial property sector.
CONSTRUCTION property environmental and infrastructure consultants ARCADIS AYH has announced the appointments of John Gaffney and Noel Partland as directors to its Leeds office.
The appointments are part of the Leeds office continuing expansion, with the number of employees proposed to rise from 30 to 50 in the next five years.
Noel Partland, an experienced QS with considerable project management experience in fast track retail work, has recently joined the Leeds office as director within the Lifestyle Sector.
Prior to joining ARCADIS AYH, he was a regional director for Leslie Clark, and during his time there the national account manager for New Look, responsible for the delivery of Project Management and QS services, spanning four offices with an average of 12-15 projects a year.
John Gaffney has also recently joined the Leeds office as director within the Lifestyle Sector.
In his previous role John was executive director of Knowles where he was the head of Capital Projects in the UK.
Previous consultancy experience also includes in-house QS manager of Sport England, owner of a Project Management/QS practice and a salaried partner of a medium sized Project Management /QS practice.

PROPERTY agent Garness Jones have appointed chartered surveyor Tim Lenton to its growing residential surveying business.
Mr Lenton, 29, is active on the firm’s residential investment and development work, as well as carrying out home valuations and home buyer reports.
Prior to joining Garness Jones, which is active in Hull, East Yorkshire and north Lincolnshire, Mr Lenton was a residential surveyor with Shepherd Chartered Surveyors for 18 months and a commercial surveyor with TLB Properties for three years.
Dave Garness, Garness Jones director, said: “Tim is a well-qualified surveyor who is already fitting in well with the rest of the team. While he will be primarily involved with our residential work, his background in commercial surveying will also prove beneficial to the company. While we realise that market conditions are more difficult we also recognise the need to have the correct resources and skills to work hard for our clients in a more challenging economy. This appointment demonstrates our commitment to providing a good quality service and also our confidence in the local economy.”

SANDERSON Weatherall has appointed Martin Archer finance director at its head office in Leeds.
Joining from Shipley based architects and engineers, the Robinson Design Group, Martin has over 20 years of board level experience and will now take full responsibility for Sanderson Weatherall’s financial operations across the office network.
Andrew Ellis, executive director at Sanderson Weatherall said: “Martin has a great deal of expertise in the financial field and will be a valuable addition to the firm as we drive it forward into the next financial year. His arrival comes during an exciting time for Sanderson Weatherall as we seek to further build on our recent growth and success, and we are very pleased to have him on board.”
Previous to working for Robinson Design Group, Martin spent many years as FD in the residential housebuilding industry.

PROPERTY advisor Colliers CRE has appointed Terry McGuire as director of its specialist residential department in Yorkshire.
Mr McGuire will be based in Colliers CRE’s Leeds office, heading up its residential function across Yorkshire and the North East up to the Scottish border.
Managing a team of three he will offer a comprehensive advisory and agency service on all aspects of residential and mixed-use development, specialising in
the sale and acquisition of residential brown and green-field sites.
Joining Colliers CRE from Circa Homes, Mr McGuire held the position of Director where he was directly involved with the acquisition of development land and
also led reviews of costs and implementation of strategy.
Previous to this Terry spent eight years as the Managing Director of George Wimpey, South Yorkshire being responsible for the full profit and loss across the
entire business and managing a team of 105. Terry’s wide experience in the development of residential land will offer clients a comprehensive and unique
service.

GLOBAL property consultancy Knight Frank has promoted four staff at its Leeds office.
Tom Lamb, Paul Hallam, Greg Millar and Mark Bailey have all been appointed associates.
Mr Lamb, pictured, joined Knight Frank’s industrial property department in 2007 following five years working in Sheffield with Fuller Peiser, where clients
included Gazeley and Prologis on various high profile schemes across Yorkshire.
Mr Hallam joined Knight Frank’s valuations team in 2006 from SHM Smith Hodgkinson in Leeds, while Mr Millar, who also works in valuations, moved from
Lambert Smith Hampton in London to Knight Frank in 2004.
Mr Bailey is a former Sheffield and North Yorkshire hotelier who came from Christie and Co in Leeds to join Knight Frank’s expanding hotels department in 2006.
