Revenue feast for Fullers

FROZEN food wholesaler Fullers Foods has seen turnover leap by more than 23%.

The company recorded pre-tax profits of £1.17m for the year to the end of January, up from £1.02m in the previous 12 months.

Turnover rose from £141.47m to £174.94m  while operating profit grew from £982,800 to £1.12m.

Its annual report says: “Given its involvement in the world’s food markets, the company is influenced by the buoyancy of the world economy and in particular how that affects food producers and food processors.

“As last year, the current year continues to be a difficult trading environment but the company considers that it is will placed to meet the challenges that will arise.”

Gross margin for the year grew from 9.11% to 10.49%.

Leeds-based Fullers Foods supplies frozen foods to major retailers, wholesalers and chain restaurants.

The company declined to comment.
