Google to inspire Sheffield’s IT entrepreneurs

SHEFFIELD-based technology entrepreneurs are to be given a unique insight into e-commerce at a special event in the city tomorrow.
Andrew Barke, agency relationship manager of global internet giant Google, will share insights into the opportunities offered to small business on the internet in the latest of a series of events hosted by Sheffield Technology Parks (STP).
Karen Wood, STP’s business incubation manager said that there was no doubt that online trade was critical to any business success, and that she was very pleased that Mr Barke had agreed to speak.
“Google has been at the forefront of development of that market,” she added.
“This is a rare opportunity to learn how to maximise the opportunities of the internet from a true expert and I’m sure that for some delegates it could even hold the key to worldwide success.”
Over the past two years STP has supported more than 100 creative and digital businesses generating in excess of £40m in turnover to the city’s economy.
In 2007, it was awarded UK Business Incubator of the Year in recognition of its good practice, expertise and impact on the local economy.
Anyone wanting to attend the e-commerce talk, which takes place at 6pm at the Millennium Galleries, should visit www.shefftechparks.com for ticket details.
