Scottish success for Fulcrum

FULCRUM Utility Services has secured a £7.6m contract to provide gas connections to four Scottish distilleries.

The deal will see the Sheffield-based firm deliver the new connections over the next 18 months.

Distillers Chivas Brothers and Angus Dundee Distillers are moving to use gas rather than heavy fuel oil at the sites in Speyside.

Fulcrum chief executive John Spellman said: “We are delighted to have secured such a substantial contract and look forward to delivering it over the coming months.

“Despite a backdrop of macro-economic uncertainty, there continue to be significant opportunities Fulcrum is well positioned to secure.

“The contract win is a further endorsement of our renewed business model focused on providing high quality customer service and the expertise to deliver large scale, complex engineering projects.”

Updating shareholders on the company’s performance on the last six months, Fulcrun said it had remianed profitable despite the “challenging economic environment”.
