Former recruiter sees early Payme success

AN OUTSOURCING specialist company is set to turnover £5m and move into new sectors following a successful launch period.

Former recruitment agency owner John Patrick founded Payme in Harrogate and has grown the outfit to boast a UK-wide portfolio of 12 client companies.

Payme has taken on two full-time and two part-time jobs and additional sales staff are being recruited.

Initially a national payroll management service concentrating on recruitment agency business and the construction industry, Payme first specialised in managing the Umbrella PAYE system for paying agency workers.

Utilising HMRC travel and subsistence allowances against expenses incurred in a worker’s assignment can reduce taxable income.

Payme has now developed a generic outsourcing brand offering for all business sectors.

Mr Patrick, who previously built and sold Javelin Recruitment in Leeds, said: “I believe our growth is largely due to avoiding the call centre mentality normally found in payroll outsourcing operations. Instead, we have concentrated on detailed account management and personal relationships.

“With our generic outsourcing offering we plan further growth and the development of new business in the construction, engineering, rail healthcare and education sectors.”
