UPN win for Belgravium Technologies

BELGRAVIUM Technologies, the company which provides mobile computing devices to the warehousing and logistics sectors, has won a deal to supply equipment to 70 distribution depots.

Bradford-based Belgravium will install mobile scanning equipment across all depots for UPN, a leading UK and European pallet freight delivery service.

The move follows a six-month trial period during which the system was fully tested and during which time Belgravium worked with UPN to adapt the operating software.

The handheld scanning equipment track and then updates a central web-based system in real time in relation to the movements of pallets in and out of the depots.

The new system will be rolled out across all UPN depots over the next six months and is expected to become fully operational by the middle of next year.

Mark Hardy, managing director at Belgravium, said: “I am delighted that UPN has chosen to work with us on these new systems. The pilot scheme ran very well and has allowed UPN and its depot to prove the value the new systems, before making the investment decision.

“Our success in the pallet network sector has been underlined with the award of this contract. Our knowledge of the sector is growing and we have now gained a tangible track record. We look forward to working more with UPN and helping them to manage business growth. The palletised freight sector is very buoyant and the networking sector is growing fast, so it is an attractive sector for us to work in.”
