Firm pitches for caravan success with acquisition

A CARAVAN storage site has been acquired by Leeds Caravan Storage in a £825,000 deal funded by NatWest.

The site in Worksop boasts 5.8 acres of caravan storage and a four bedroom house and presently has the capacity to accommodate 380 caravans, touring caravans and motor homes. 

Leeds Caravans Storage, based in Leeds, plans to invest further over the next few years to create an additional 120 pitches – 40 pitches by knocking down dilapidated buildings situated on site and a further 80 pitches on the adjacent field which already has the necessary planning permission in place. 

The company is also considering expanding the business to include an on site caravan workshop and a shop selling ancillary goods. 

Leeds Caravan Storage was founded in 2001 by husband and wife team Paul and Karen McFadden. 

The latest acquisition increases the number of storage sites in the company’s portfolio to two – the other site is situated in Leeds and has the capacity to store 271 caravans, touring caravans and motor homes. 

The pair’s aim is to grow Leeds Caravan Storage further by acquiring existing caravan storage sites and pieces of land suitable for development. The  McFadden’s are currently looking at a plot of land in Yorkshire to create a third caravan storage site. 

Mr McFadden said: “The new site in Worksop is a well-established business that has provided a great service to its customer base for over 20 years. Development of the site will enable us to further meet customer demand and reduce our current waiting list for Leeds as well as Worksop. 

“This investment fits in with our original long term plans for the company and we are delighted to have completed this acquisition.
