Prostar to dress the Shrews

SPORTSWEAR manufacturer Prostar is to up its brand profile with the sponsorship of Shrewsbury Town FC.

Wakefield-based Prostar’s deal with the Shrews will see the team’s stadium renamed as the Prostar Stadium and the company as official kit supplier. Both deals will run over a four year period.

Prostar has also designed new home and away kits specifically for the Shrews, the design of which maintains the clubs unique “Royal and Amber” colour combination.

Shane Bray, sales and marketing director for Prostar, said that the company was extremely excited about working with the Shrews and that as an ambitious brand shared a lot of aims and ambitions with the club.

“Prostar has been supplying high quality sportswear in the UK and internationally for more than 100 years,” he said.

“The company is one of the UK’s leading football brands which supplies in excess of 40,000 teams at all levels. Following the company buyout in May 2007, the new management team have recognised the importance of brand exposure through pro club sponsorship.”

He added: “The naming of the Prostar Stadium and the complimentary kit agreement demonstrates Prostar’s ambition to continue to increase the brands awareness and position in the professional arena.”

Jon Harris, general manager for Shrewsbury Town, said that the club was eagerly anticipating its second season at its new home and were delighted with the new stadium name.

“Our players are looking forward to wearing the matchday kit and trainingwear supplied by Prostar and I’m sure all our supporters will be happy with the high standard of extensive products that will be available in the near future,” he said.
