ITM signs AEG agreement

CLEAN fuel and energy storage business ITM Power has agreed a new partnership with AEG Power Solutions.

The deal will see Sheffield-based ITM Power integrate its electrolyser technology, which can store power generated by renewables, with AEG’s power control electronics products.

The two companies have agreed to work together initally on five live projects.

ITM Power chief technical officer Simon Bourne said: “AEG Power Solutions are a world leader in power electronics for power conversion and controlling rapid response demand side loads.

“We are delighted to have developed this important collaboration and look forward to working together on a developing pipeline of projects.”

The variable nature of renewable energy means that in future finding efficient ways of storing energy until it is needed and balancing input from different sources will be critical.

Gladwyn De Vidts, from AEG PS, said: “We are proud to cooperate with ITM Power who offers leading technology in PEM electrolysis.

“We are confident that the partnership will be favourable for both companies, opening new business opportunities in the future.”
