New Italian flavour for city centre

LEEDS restaurateur Claudio Modena has opened a new café-bar in the city centre.
Primo specialises in producing authentic Italian dishes using fresh local produce and imported Italian specialities.
The restaurant aims to use as much Yorkshire produce as possible – including regionally sourced meat and fish.
Mr Modena has worked in Leeds for the past 22 years.
He began his career in the Palace Hotel in Rimini when he was just 14, moving to the celebrity restaurant “Dante” in Bologna before completing his national service.
He worked at the Sheraton Hotel in Frankfurt before settling in Leeds in 1986.
He said: “We want to bring the personal touch which can so easily be lost or forgotten in a busy city centre restaurant. Our customers are recognised and valued. We believe the difference in Primo will be in the customer service and of course the food will be superb.”
Primo, located at West Point off Wellington Street, is open for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner and also offers customers free wifi access.
