Mfonex snaps up Yorkshire firms

E-COMMERCE service provider Mfonex has announced plans to move its headquarters to Yorkshire after acquiring two regional businesses.
Mfonex, which is based in Oxfordshire, has acquired Insight Marketing and Inspire Telecom for an undisclosed sum.
Both business are based in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.
Mfonex will now re-locate its head office to Cleckheaton whilst keeping a satellite office in Oxfordshire.
Combined the three businesses will employ around 45 people – with the majority of staff based in Yorkshire.
Mfonex provides mobile, landline and broadband services and also runs credit checks.
It said it will work with the two companies to help further expand its brand and marketing capabilities.
Mfonex is preparing to launch its own MVNO network – Topaz Mobile – later this year. An MVNO network runs off signals from other networks.
For example the ‘3’ network uses the Orange network to host most of its signals.
Topaz mobile will compete against other telecoms providers including Gamma Telecom and Virgin mobile – and plans are already in place to launch the network in India.
Mfonex chairman Chris Caudle said: “Acquiring these companies is fantastic news for Mfonex. We have been looking at them both for some time and have been impressed with what they have to offer. By acquiring these businesses we are looking to expand and improve our product range by combining their infrastructure and facilities with our knowledge and expertise.”
Inspire Telecoms founder Jamie Greaves said: “Being part of Mfonex gives me further confidence and support to develop the Inspire Telecom service providing to the Mfonex client base.”
A spokesperson for Insight Marketing said: “This is a great opportunity to further establish ourselves as a logistics and telemarketing company, and we are delighted to be working with Mfonex.”
