Allied Irish Bank strengthens corporate arm in Yorkshire

THE Yorkshire arm of Allied Irish Bank has unveiled a new corporate structure aimed at growing its business with the region’s business community.

Patrick McGarry, Senior Manager – Corporate Business has overall responsibility for the business in Leeds with Anthony Giliker, Senior Corporate Banking Manager, leading the corporate focus. 

Mr McGarry joins Allied Irish Bank after five years establishing the group’s Tees Valley office, while Mr Giliker joins following six years working for RBS in London and Leeds as Senior Director – Private Equity, Global Banking & Markets focussing on cashflow lending.

Together, they bring more than 40 years experience in corporate banking to the Leeds branch. 

Mr McGarry said: “Leeds is a commercially vibrant and growing city and Allied Irish Bank is now well placed to help the local business community weather these challenging economic times. We believe in traditional banking and will continue to service our customers in the way we always have, with face to face and ‘direct to branch’ customer contact.”

Mr Giliker added: “Allied Irish Bank Corporate Banking understands the needs for decisions to be made at a local level which ensures a fast and efficient service for our busy customers. As a team, we will be working with companies with financial needs from £1m up to and over £20m.”

Based on Infirmary Street, Allied Irish Bank has had a presence in Leeds for the past 37 years.

The Leeds branch employs 21 staff and offers private and business banking as well as corporate banking.
