Mixing business with pleasure at Leeds West Indian Carnival
BUDDING entrepreneurs are to be given a unique welcome into the world of enterprise at this year’s West Indian Carnival in Leeds.
Chapeltown-based The Biz Centre is planning a host of attractions at the popular event aimed at showing enterprise can be fun as well as a way of making money.
Visitors are invited to visit the centre’s special enterprise marquee to chat about any ideas or to get more information about starting a business. And to reflect the carnival atmosphere there will be games, face painting, craft activities and art performances.
The Biz Centre was launched in March with support from Sharing the Success – a Leeds Local Enterprise Growth Initiative – to help aspiring businesses get off the ground and to provide local residents with access to advice, temporary desk space, use of office equipment, training courses and networking.
Leeds West Indian Carnival is the second largest carnival of its kind in the UK. It will take place over four days from August 22 to the 25th.
