Legal appointments: Family law specialist joins Fox Hayes and more

A round-up of the region’s legal appointments.
SPECIALIST lawyer Kelly Briggs has joined Fox Hayes’ family law department.
Ms Briggs, who is a member of Resolution, has worked exclusively in family law since qualifying in 2003, including a stint with a Sydney-based law firm.
She specialises in divorce and relationship breakdown, dissolution of Civil Partnerships and the resolution of property and financial matters.
She also deals with issues in respect of children, including contact and residence.
Fox Hayes Head of Family law, James Thornton, said: “Kelly is a vibrant and welcome addition to the department. Her reputation, particularly with high value divorce settlements, can only enhance the services offered by the firm and I am delighted to welcome her to Fox Hayes.”

LAW firm Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office has been boosted with a key new appointment.
Employment law specialist Harmajinder Hayre joins the firm as a partner.
Mr Hayre was previously a partner at Hammonds and at Beachcroft, based in Leeds, and has more than 10 years’ experience in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law.
He has advised on a range of matters including advice to a financial service company on employee aspects of a £2bn outsourcing programme and advising an international engineering company on employee aspects of a major restructuring programme.
Andrew Hoyle, lead partner for Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office, said: “It is great news to be able to welcome Harmajinder on board so soon after opening our doors. The Leeds team has really hit the ground running since opening in July and the appointment of Harmajinder will boost us further, strengthening and broadening our offering to clients.
Ward Hadaway now has a line-up of seven partners and their teams at its office at Benson House, Wellington Street, in Leeds with expertise in construction, property, employment, healthcare, insolvency and corporate recovery.
Together with its operation in Newcastle, the firm employs more than 400 people.
