PROPERTY developer Prospect Estates has acquired office building Woodhead House at the Junction 27 business park in Birstall, West Yorkshire.

The building is presently occupied by Cunningham Lindsey and William Hill.

Ceri Hill, divisional surveyor at Otley-based Prospect Estates, said: After a successful series of acquisitions across the country in 2012 acquiring in the rest of the country we are delighted to have purchased Woodhead House to add to our three strong Leeds office portfolio.

“It is a building which provides us with tremendous asset management opportunities. Throughout the coming year we are in a strong position to further add to our Leeds portfolio and are constantly seeking opportunities in the Yorkshire market.”

AWS and Lambert Smith Hampton have been appointed as agents on the building to let the vacant ground floor.

GVA has brokered a deal for Store First to acquire a new warehouse premises in West Yorkshire.  

The self-storage operator is expanding its operations in the region by moving into Unit 1 Freeway Park, a 21,387 sq ft warehouse at the Wakefield Europort business park in Castleford.

Located close to Junction 31 of the M62, the property is a modern high bay unit situated in a prominent position fronting the main spine road leading through the business park.

GVA’s Yorkshire industrial agency team advised the vendor. Iain McPhail, associate at GVA Leeds, said: “We were aware that Store First was in the market for additional premises in the Yorkshire area and knew that Freeway Park would be perfect for their use. The height of the unit at 9.5 metres has allowed the occupier to maximise the available space by installing three mezzanine levels.”

MOBILE workers can now hold meetings and catch up with admin at the same time as buying envelopes or printer paper in Sheffield.

As part of a new link-up between Regus and Staples UK, a Regus Business Hub has opened in the Staples store on Eyre Street.

The Business Hub offers drop in business facilities as well as meeting space, allowing mobile workers to meet and catch up on work in a business lounge as well as offering homeworkers a location to meet clients and suppliers close to their home.

Consumers can access the hubs with a Regus Businessworld card or simply by buying a pass in a Staples store.

Steve Purdy, UK managing director at Regus, said: “We are at the forefront of supporting the movement towards a more flexible way of working, which is certainly taking off in Sheffield.

A grade A office building in an area of regeneration has been chosen as the location for one of the region’s new healthcare call centres.

Commercial property agents Knight Frank are leasing Building 4, part of the 16 acre Callflex Business Park at Dearne Valley, on behalf of Henley Investments 101 Limited to facilitate the region’s new 111 telephone service which is to be provided by Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust when it is launched in the spring.

The 24-hour/365-day NHS 111 service is part of a new national initiative being rolled out to help direct patients to the most appropriate urgent healthcare service for their needs and will be staffed by call handlers advisers and experienced clinicians.
