The freezer’s almost full at Reed Boardall

THE freezer’s full at Reed Boardall just a few months after the Boroughbridge-based frozen food haulage specialist opened a new £7m extension.
Reed Bordall, which provides a total of 112,000 pallet spaces at its A1 adjacent site, invested in the cold store extension to ensure it could meet future demand.
However, despite opening the facility ahead of schedule it is already two-thirds full.
Keith Boardall, Reed Boardall’s group managing director, said that the company was a firm believer that corners could not be cut in the frozen food industry and that it was important to keep every aspect of the business up to date.
“Our mission is to ensure that we provide our customers, that is the food manufacturers, and our customers’ customers, that is the supermarkets, wholesalers and food service companies, with the right product, at the right time, at the right temperature, with the right documentation and in the shortest lead times,” said Mr Boardall.
“In this way, we keep everyone happy within the frozen food supply chain.”
Reed Boardall, which moved to its current site 16 years ago, is the UK’s largest and only single site consolidation service in the frozen food industry.
The combination of the company’s sophisticated infrastructure and ability to reduce food miles ensures short order lead times – a key factor in the food sector.
