EMIS Group sees further growth in healthcare markets ahead

EMIS Group said today it is looking to continued strong revenues and opportunities in its key healthcare markets.

The Yorkshire-based business, which supplies software and other services to GPs, pharmacies and the healthcare sector, said that revenue grew 18% to £86.3m in the year to December 31 wile operating profit from continuing operations was up 12% to £24.1m.

The group said it would increase its total dividend for the year by 15% to 14.2p.

Interim chief executive Chris Spencer, said: “EMIS Group was very busy again in 2012, in particular accelerating the roll-out to GPs of EMIS Web, our transformational healthcare system, and with RX Systems continuing to grow its estate.

“As ring fenced public health budgets formally pass in 2013 to Clinical Commissioning Groups, EMIS Web will enable an increasing number of healthcare professionals to use and securely share patient data. We are well placed to play an integral part in delivering the IT strategy of the NHS: delivering faster, cheaper and safer patient care.”
