THE Molescroft Group has launched its new purpose built 64 bed care home in Hull.
Molescroft, which already operates Beverley Grange, a 75 bedroom care home in Beverley and Queensgate, a 30 bedroom residential home in Hull, has converted the iconic site at the Holy Name Church on Hall Road with help from Barclays.
The 18 month conversion includes the church as the central part of the design and provides purpose built accommodation for elderly residents, patients with dementia and those with physical disabilities.
Batinder Marwah, director of the Molescroft Group, said: “Care for the elderly and dementia sufferers has never been more important and with an ageing population, it’s important we can provide the right level of care this vulnerable sector of society deserves. Barclays has supported this project throughout and it’s been very rewarding seeing the development come to fruition and the resulting state of the art facilities that will enable us to provide first class care facilities in Hull.”

SHEFFIELD Hallam University has become a partner with the not-for-profit business support group the Connect Gazelles.
The university said the move is part of its aim of developing links with businesses across the region.
Alison Money, business gateway manager at the university, said: “We can help businesses across any industry or sector to develop their services, products and processes and to exploit the latest technologies. We also offer customised training and professional development and services designed to help business succeed with real benefits that impact on the bottom line.
“We are looking forward to working with Gazelle members’ who want to innovate and grow, we can help them to tap into our expertise to help solve specific business challenges.”
The Connect Gazelles is part of Connect Yorkshire and provides support including masterclasses and one-to-one mentoring for fast growing SMEs across Yorkshire.

A SECURITY services firm has boosted it workforce over the last few months as it continues to grow.
Active Response Security Services in Barnsley was set up seven years ago by Michelle Bailey.
It is now rated by its regulatory body as being in the top five per cent of private security firms nationally and also reached the finals of a national award.
The number of permanent, full-time security officers employed by Active Response has risen from 40 to 61 since November after a recruitment drive to help meet new contracts – a further five posts are yet to be filled.
The company has also moved in to new premises at Berneslai Close in the town centre after outgrowing its former base at Mount Osborne Business Centre. The expansion is being backed by business support organisation Enterprising Barnsley.
