Wood backs Yorkshire Business Masters

THEBUSINESSDESK.COM’S Yorkshire Ambassador, Margaret Wood, has described the title as a “great accolade” and urged individuals and organisations to enter the 2013 Business Masters Awards.

The former Yorkshire IoD chairman said she had been honoured to win the accolade, which recognises people who have made an outstanding contribution to the region and to business during their careers.

“Being named the TheBusinessDesk.com’s Yorkshire Ambassador in 2012 meant a great deal to me,” said the chairman of Wakefield-based specialist glazing firm ICW (UK).

“It was voted for by fellow business leaders across the Yorkshire region. These are people who cannot be fooled.

“It was a great accolade particularly because the nominees were business people of the higest calibre who have also contributed to much growth in the region. I would urge anyone to consider going for it.”

Entries are now open for this year’s Yorkshire Business Masters, which take place at lunchtime on Thursday, June 27 at Aspire in Leeds.

The Masters awards will recognise success in innovation, international trade, grit, social responsibility and leadership, while new business success will also be celebrated in the Yorkshire Newcomer award.
