Balfour Beatty to close its operation in Doncaster

CONSTRUCTION group Balfour Beatty plans to close its operation in Doncaster and two other offices following a review of the business.

It said high costs and sluggish market conditions were behind the decision to close Rochdale, Doncaster and Dartford in Kent.

The group employs 50 to 90 people at each of the offices but said it was to early to confirm the total number of redundancies.

It said it is exploring “all available options for the redeployment of employees across the regional business and the wider Balfour Beatty Group”.

The three offices account for around 8% of the UK Regional business which generated £1.5bn of revenue in 2012.
