Appointments: hlw Keeble Hawson; Deloitte; Emsleys

LAW firm hlw Keeble Hawson has announced a raft of internal promotions to further strengthen the commercial and private client teams at its Sheffield office.

The firm, which also has offices in Leeds and Doncaster, has appointed two new partners and two new associates from within its ranks.

Commercial property specialist Craig Law and clinical negligence solicitor Georgina Peckett have both been made partners. Law’s area of expertise covers commercial property acquisitions and disposals, secured lending, landlord and tenant work and residential investment portfolios.

Peckett’s work in the field of healthcare covers failures in duty of care caused by incorrect diagnosis, negligent treatment or surgery.

Susan Martin who leads the residential property team and Kelly Wharin, a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer, have been made associates.

Matt HendersonBUSINESS advisory firm Deloitte has appointed a new partner and six new directors as it continues to grow its Leeds office.

The promotion of Matt Henderson to partner strengthens Deloitte’s 15-strong transaction services team in Yorkshire. Henderson has been with Deloitte in Leeds since 2000 and has worked on a number of transactions for public and private corporate clients with a particular focus on privately owned businesses. A specialist in the healthcare sector, he has also worked closely with Deloitte’s national team on M&A activity in this sector.

He is also involved in the firm’s CSR work and is currently responsible for Deloitte Disability Sport activity in Leeds.

In addition to the new partner, Jamie Williams (audit), Victoria Charlton (transaction services), Michelle Dryden (consulting) Ian Stephenson, Susie Welford and Dave Clarke (all tax) will take up directorships across the practice.

EMSLEYS Solicitors has appointed Elaine Robinson as regulatory risk and compliance officer.

A qualified solicitor, SQM Auditor and accredited Lexcel Consultant and Assessor, she brings more than 10 years of experience in regulation and compliance.

Her role will focus on compliance across the firm including client care, equality and diversity, supervisory requirements and risk management – as well as fostering a culture of compliance across the business.
