Jobs saved as administrators confirm sale of Atmosphere

ATMOSPHERE Bars and Clubs has been sold to the Chicago Group, an affiliate of Sun European Partners securing 252 jobs.

The business, which has the Chicago Rock Café in Barnsley and Chicago’s in Halifax, was placed in administration last month.

Under the sale, 10 of Atmosphere Bars and Clubs’ venues and the head office are being transferred.

Daniel Butters, joint administrator and partner at Deloitte, said: “We are delighted to have completed the sale of the restructured portfolio, thereby securing the employment of 252 full and part-time staff. We wish the buyer every success and are grateful for the support of all employees and stakeholders to the business during the administration.”

Butters, along with Adrian Berry, were called in as administrators in May. On appointment, Atmosphere Bars and Clubs operated 24 venues, of which 14 have subsequently been closed.
